    1 Malaysia

Now i dont know if you all notice but the whole racism issue is escalating in Malaysia. The whole principle calling everyone else a PENDATANG or PENUMPANG and the beating of the chinese doods on National Day yes NATIONAL DAY...yet the country still urges us to be patriotic... TRIES their best to make a big fuss about the 31st of August but in all truth they only appreciate the public holiday it offers haha...and i speak for myself to. I TRIED to be patriotic about it but really mmm just not feeling it man...

The whole idea of 1 Malaysia is a noble idea i must say...yes i appreciate the effort of trying to bridge the gap between the races but really coming out with KEMPEN after KEMPEN is not going to help and if its anything it just provides the stand up comedians n critics a whole load of ammunition...we really dont mean to laugh at it but when such KEMPENs come out a whole load of crap from respective organizations come out too...haha its like a well choreographed dance.

I can go on n on about how unfair things have been, i can go on n on about how we can use history to show that even the POLITICALLY claimed original people are not original...but what i really want to talk about is WHY are WE being ATTACKED by these ppl...to be honest this simple mind of mine cannot come up with any answers....i read this article and it has shed a little light on the issue

    and the follow up

    http://malaysia-today.net/mtcolumns/special-reports/34254-princess-of-malay-traitors-gives-perkasa-royal-lashing

now the side i'm takin is NO not the side of TRUTH really truth? in this doggy dog eat world nahh...i'm taking the side of LOGIC and COMMON SENSE no not 5 cents or the 6th sense just plain simple common sense. There are what Nurul puts it as progressive malays who are trying to break out n speak their mind...but then there are those who constantly use the same words n tactic to silence them...for CONTOH:

    "Blood Traitor"
"No respect for the malay rights"
    "dishouring the king"

and many many more slurs that they just throw at them....Am i

Trying to start a fight? No i'm not

Then whats the purpose of this post...well i just wanted to speak a little of my mind not too much just a little cause i dont wan to end up in a detention centre too haha...agree with me or disagree with me tell me about it...solutions i cant give cause i'm no where near to being a politician but as a young adult (aiyer feel so weird calling myself that) I think i can play my part by ignoring the nonsensical slurs that they throw at me and just stay n support those who think with their brains...because as much as EVERYONE knows what they say is NOT TRUE and throwing facts back at them will not help WHY??? well simply cause some ppl are born with half a brain and they only wan to use 1/4 of it....hahaha i'm just kidding well its cause they just are simply INSECURE yes INSECURE...insecurity KILLS....period...insecurity leaves them susceptible to the so called 'brain washing' propagandas that are being spread like a disease only problem is there is no cure for this disease....YET...

Malaysia is a lovely place...i've traveled to many countries before and as screwed up as things can be here I still prefer to come back haha...I also believe that if Malaysia can pull thru...we will definitely be a SHINNING example of how so many races can co exist which in turn i HOPE can stop racism all together...We've sang songs about RACISM, we've played Football to try n stop RACISM, we've painted pictures, heard talks, heard stories from kids, done pledges, joined groups....it looks like everything is been done to stop or at least REDUCE it but nothing seems to be working on the long run...another million dollar question WHY?

we need a whole lot more love not just here but EVERYWHERE, but if we cannot spread the love here first why even bother going else where....So stop hating...if u've been patience keep it up it'll do you good...if u've not give it a shot....but always do stand up for urself in anyway you can...peace ya'll...yEEEHHAaaaaa!!!

oh and also go watch this...=)

    Polyglottery Exploits

My current target is to learn Mandarin Chinese and other Chinese dialects. However, my life long goal is to learn Spanish. There are many other languages that interest which I hope to attempt to learn some of it in the future. The last few days have been great in terms of my language learning exploit as I managed to get hold of some language books. The new additions to my language books are:
    • Teach Yourself Mandarin Chinese
    • Chinese Characters: Learn & Remember 2,178 Characters and Their Meanings
    • Teach Yourself: Improve Your Spanish
    • Teach Yourself Catalan
    • Teach Yourself Italian
    • The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning Italian
    • Teach Yourself Italian Grammar
    • Colloquial Italian 2: The Next Step in Language Learning
    • Intermediate Italian For Dummies
The prominent amount of Italian books is because my girlfriend wants to learn Italian. As for me, I am solely focusing on the Chinese language and Spanish. I may want to flirt with Italian one day.

    Books to read

Another 2 books are added into my to-read list. There are Niccolo Machiavelli's The Prince and Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Both books are famous and widely used by famous people today. However, this would be my first attempt at philosophical books. Let's just see how it goes.

Plans, plans and plans for the next months

After seeing my girlfriend heading back home, I'm all alone again with another month of holiday before my final degree year begins in October. With another month left, there's many I wanna do. Lately, I've got the urge to begin reading again. I was an avid reader a good 8 to 9 years ago but soon after that, I've been reading a lot less. Some of the books that I've got with me now are John Gray's Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus and another book that I've recently got is Benjamin Graham's The Intelligent Investor. Apart from that, I have also got a couple of classical English novels that I would like to read starting with Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre which is already half done. Another 2 books I have in my shelf that have yet to be read are Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights and Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I hope to finish these 5 books as soon as possible in the next couple of weeks.

My mind keeps telling me that I need to be productive in this month and not to waste my September like how I did last year when I actually spent that whole month being a lazy-bum getting addicted on Football Manager. This time around, I have planned my September far ahead. As I've received and noticed my gain of weight, I hope to begin workout again and also do some jogging (provided that my knee allows me to do so). I would also like to do some hiking be it the forest or hill.

Of course, not to forget, I will try my very best to regain what I've learnt on Chinese language and look to learn more. Also I guess I am putting the Spanish language on hold as I would want to focus on the Chinese language specifically Mandarin for the time-being and if my language learning capability allows, I would want to learn some other Chinese dialects first before getting back to Spanish. But I assure everyone that I am NOT giving up on Spanish, I'm just taking a break and one day, I will definitely learn it!

I'm also hoping to begin my little project to make a clock. I was inspired by some uniquely designed clocks in Malacca and I hope to do 2 of it. It is simply just a scratch idea now as I have no materials and no theme for the clock's design too.

I guess reading, working-out, jogging, hiking, hill climbing, language learning and clock-making would allow me to spend the final month of holiday by doing something that is actually productive. And not to forget, I am also actually planning to participate in Taylor's University College's Finance Challenge 2010. Yeah, I might have said that my venture in the CIMA Global Business Challenge would be my final competition but this is actually an individual competition in which at this stage, I am only required to produce a single page essay on current finance issues. I guess this would allow me to improve my finance knowledge through all the researches that are required to actually write the essay. I am considering to participate not with the intention to emerge as the champion but to broaden my finance knowledge as I have 2 finance papers in the next degree year.

Diverting a little into my education. The final degree year would be a really crucial year for me. Well, it is actually crucial to everyone. But with my aim to obtain a First Class Honours degree, it is actually crucial for me to average a First Class in my final year since my second year was a little of a disappointment. Lastly, I am seriously thinking and considering about my future. Should I do the ACCA, CPA Australia or should I just proceed to doing ICAEW or ICAA? Or what about taking the risk to jump right ahead to CFA? I only have 1 year to decide before the working world embrace me. Well, 1 year is neither long nor short.

So well, as for now, I am just gonna stick to my plan to have a good month of September.

    The Wonderful Month of August

One reason why I have not been updating my blog in this month is because I have been busy in this entire wonderful month. My internship ended in the beginning of August on the 4th specifically. After that it has been nothing but joy, happiness and just plain wonders.

7th of August was when my darling, my girlfriend Becky Bi arrived. I remember my excitement while waiting for her at the airport's arrival hall. I still remember to first sight of her after she checked-out. The first sight, the smile and simply, the happiness after such a long wait.

After that, the entire month up to the 25th of August was all day everyday happiness. Travelling just made the month a little better in what appeared to be already a wonderful time just to be with her. We traveled, stayed together, shopped in each and every single day we had. There's just so many things done, we even went on a hill hiking trip, tried our hands on gambling in the casino in which we found we were not to good at it. Of course, there were some disappointments during our trip but the thought of just being alone with you already made the trip a great one no matter how disappointing the place was. Knowing that there's no time to waste, we stayed happy at all times and yes, that was exactly what we did. Despite the slight differences or conflicts, it was resolved in no time and we are back at one, all happy and appreciating every single second of our time together.

Now that she has gone back to her home thousands of miles away, all I can do is reminisce the time we had. It was a long stay but it felt so short a time. I remember how my heart breaks when I see her moving towards the departure hall. I would admit, no matter how tough I tried to be, there's no way I could hold back my tears. The thought of being away from her again frightens me. Holding her tightly, I know I would not let my arms set free from her on any given day but the clock, time seemed to be really harsh and cruel because on how 3 hours would normally be deemed to be a long time, it was ticking away so quickly and next I know, I only have another 5 to 10 minutes with her. It was easy to give her one last hug but it was so hard to let my arms go and bid goodbye but I had to. And there she goes, moving up the elevator while I stretch my neck amongst the crowd to catch a glimpse of her and wave her goodbye. And that was the last of it, the most heartbreaking moment.

This separation is only temporary. We will be seeing each other soon when we have our next trip in 4 or 5 months in Malaysia again and Thailand. Right now, our priority would be to do well in our studies, internship, extra examinations and simply, just to do well to put us on the right path for our near future. The future is approaching quickly and I'm already excited. I love you and always will do. By the way, in about 1 week time, it will be our 2nd anniversary. =)

All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Sing a new song to the Lord

    for he has worked wonders.

His right hand and his holy arm

    have brought salvation.

    The Lord has made known his salvation;

has shown his justice to the nations.

He has remembered his truth and love

    for the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen

    the salvation of our God.

Shout to the Lord all the earth,

    ring out your joy.

Sing psalms to the Lord with the harp,

    with the sound of music.

With trumpets and the sound of the horn

    acclaim the King, the Lord.
